What You Can, Do Now

Of all the Star Wars characters, Yoda is my favorite. Well at least until Grogoo, or as I prefer to call him, Baby Yoda. That’s a topic for another story.

Have you ever compared yourself to someone else and felt like you weren’t good enough? Maybe you said something like this, “I can’t do such and such as well as so and so can so why even try?”

It really doesn’t matter what such and such is or who so and so is. Why? Because that’s about someone else and not you.

It’s easy to compare ourselves to others and think, I’m not good enough. I get it. Been there, done that. But that’s not a healthy mindset. So what can we do? One of the most liberating phrases in my life is do what you can now.

Think of it this way. How would Yoda say do what you can now? He certainly wouldn’t say it my way. That wouldn’t sound like Yoda. He would say, “What you can, do now!”

See the difference? We all have our own unique abilities and approaches to situations. We’re individuals, not robots. A good thing, that is.

Daily Doable: Don’t compare yourself to someone else. Be you! Do what you can now or what you can, do now. I won’t be offended if you pick Yoda. Maybe a little jealous:)
