Bear Your Yoke To Achieve Clarity

More often than not, life’s paths are not a straight shot to your final destination. No, they are just the opposite, winding, foggy, and filled with uncertainty.

What’s around the next bend? What’s that fuzzy image ahead?
You don’t know.

How do you navigate these paths? Do you run with eyes closed hoping to make it where you want to go? No!

Without a clear picture, what’s your next move? Do you stop and give up? Absolutely not!

In this ACRONYM story, we’ll consider the third of the three Y’s that lead to CLARITY. Bear Your Yoke To Achieve Clarity

Yoke: Bear Your Yoke to Achieve Clarity

Farming techniques from yesteryear by and large have been replaced with modern agricultural equipment. They still exist like the team of oxen pictured in the graphic for this story. The tool that connects them is called a yoke.

A yoke also implies a burden. Ever heard of the term beast of burden? Perhaps you’ve also heard this quote.

What does this mean? Are people saddled with a device like the one on the oxen? Tragically in times past, that was the case. In this story though, our consideration will deal with the individual who is saddled with the weight of consequences that result from poor choices.

Please join me as we look at four ways to not only learn from but how to benefit from the burdens we bear in life.

1. Don’t play the victim card.

It’s easy to complain and say, “Why me?” It’s harder to accept responsibility and take your medicine. Whatever you do, don’t give in to the blame game.

2. Look at this as an opportunity for growth.

With excuses aside, you will be more inclined to see the opportunity to learn a valuable life lesson from your experience. Painful, yes. Profitable, absolutely!

3. Keep silent and show humility.

In order to learn the intended lesson, hold your tongue, and assume a posture of humility. Posture? Allow yourself to feel the weight of your yoke.

4. Endure and you will be stronger for the experience.

This is a lesson that cannot be deferred. In order to reap the intended benefits, work through the weight you’re under, and gain the clarity it will provide.

Daily Doable: Life lessons are not always going to be easy. Many times they will be unpleasant but don’t let that deter you from the wisdom they can offer.
