How to Easily Illustrate Your Way to Clarity
More often than not, life’s paths are not a straight shot to your final destination. No, they are just the opposite, winding, foggy, and filled with uncertainty.
What’s around the next bend? What’s that fuzzy image ahead?
You don’t know.
How do you navigate these paths? Do you run with eyes closed hoping to make it where you want to go? No!
Without a clear picture, what’s your next move? Do you stop and give up? Absolutely not!
In this ACRONYM story, we’ll consider the third of the three I’s that lead to CLARITY. How to Easily Illustrate Your Way to Clarity
Illustrate Your Way to Clarity
Have you ever explained a concept to someone by drawing on a napkin? Or perhaps, you had an idea and grabbed the first scrap of paper you could find to capture your thoughts?
I’m not talking about masterpieces. But these are works of art in their own right. Because the process of going from thoughts to words or thoughts to drawings help to flesh out a concept.
For example, the first step with my ACRONYM Template is to write the word vertically. This activates my mind to look at this word as a vehicle to explain the concept of the word. It works like a charm.
You can get your own ACRONYM Template later in this story.
Why do I use a napkin or a scrap of paper to flesh out my ideas? Because something that is easily discarded frees up my mind to explore and be messy. I’m not worried about whether the drawing is perfect. In fact…
A drawing like this is not perfect until it’s not perfect. There’s an inherent charm in these illustrations.
Daily Doable: Whenever an idea presents itself, grab whatever scrap of paper you can find and capture it immediately. You’ll amaze yourself at the clarity a simple drawing can produce.
