How to Easily Control Tomorrow Without Losing Today

Can you REALLY control tomorrow? In a sense, I believe you can. I’ll share my thoughts a little later. But before that, please consider with me 5 ways tomorrow can control you today IF you allow it.

TODAY: An acronym story

Tomorrow will control you if you are not thankful for today. Ask yourself, are you thankful for the blessing of time you have been given? So many people are looking for something tomorrow and forget to be thankful for the present.

Opportunities can be easily missed if you are looking for tomorrow instead of living in the present. Own the moment you have been given. What opportunities does today present to you?

You won’t get a do-over for yesterday and you can’t do anything about tomorrow. But you do control what you do today. I believe there is real power in this statement. Do What You Can Now.

There is more than enough to be concerned about today without being anxious for tomorrow. Why exhaust yourself with the unknown? Focus on today and its challenges.

Very similar to anxiety, tomorrow will control you if you allow yourself to be saddled with the weight of something that may or may not happen. Have you ever been weighed down with tomorrow and it never happened?

Daily Doable: The only way you can easily control tomorrow is to let go of it today. The choice is yours. So live today the best you can.

Personally, I find this section of scripture comforting. With so much uncertainty in the world, there is one constant I can count on.

For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.

But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
