From time to time, I want to share something with you I’m calling Inspire Points.
Inspire Points could be a saying, a quote, a verse or a video. They are designed to help you think in ways that serve you well AND inspire you to do what you can.
I’m joined in this video by The Amazing Remi: Dog Ventriloquist. She did a great job leading me through the story:)
Click the video below to see this Daily Watchable: “2 Words That Give Me Hope”
BTW, this will take a little over 4 minutes of your time. I know you would like to look at Remi longer but this will have to do for now:)
[Please post your takeaways in the comments below.]
P.S. I’ll add a couple of links in the comments about the Civil Air Patrol.
So are the two words, “Yes, Sir”? Remi is a natural on camera! Beautiful pup!
Yes, Ma’am Margaret:) And I do agree, Remi is a natural!
Here are a couple of websites about the Civil Air Patrol. I was impressed with how much they do.

“There arose a generation that knew not God.” Those words should cause a parent to at least stop and think. The words yes, sir or mam say so much about what a young person thinks about the world he or she is in. I had a student say to me a few years ago, “I don’t say yes sir to anyone.” He said this in response to me talking to him about how he should behave toward his dad. Thanks, Tim, for bringing up an important point. I appreciate your efforts to us be inspired to do more of what we can.
Thanks Scott!
When you hear expressions of respect, it is also a commentary on what has been taught. It has to be taught.
Respect, kindness, and civility are, indeed, timeless qualities that will serve us well and serve society well. Thank you for the reminder!
Thanks Elizabeth!
I’ve often preached a sermon I call “Missing Statements.” Those two statements are “Thank you,” and “I love you.” Your observation is very astute — I’ll now add the third statement, “Yes, Sir/Ma’am!” RESPECT is lacking in much of our society and I appreciate youth like the CAP (and JROTC and such) who work diligently in training youth to UNDERSTAND RESPECT and its value! Thanks, Tim, for your diligence in this project of INSPIRE POINTS!!!
Thank you Mike! I appreciate your additions. Simple words can say a lot about a person’s character.
Thank you, Tim, for reinforcing something that I have been saying for years! A little respect goes a long way. Please and thank you, along with yes sir/ma’am, are important steps in showing respect that we don’t always hear or say. I am inspired to do my part, anybody else?
PS I remember a song from a Captain Kangaroo album (Yes, I’m that old!) that starts with:
There are two little magic words that will open any door with ease.
The first little word is Thanks and the other little word is Please.
You’d be so surprised what those two little words can do.
They work like a charm for me and they’ll work like a charm for you.
I loved Captain Kangaroo Candy:) Thanks for the memory!
Great thoughts. Thanks for sharing.
🙂 Martha
