Daily Devotionals Day – 26: A 4:8 THINKER I AM

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have HAPPINESS, CONTENTMENT and PEACE OF MIND in your life, regardless of the “stuff” going on around you. It’s possible if A 4:8 Thinker You Become!

Welcome to Day 26 of my 30 Daily Devotional Challenge.

In my last post, I shared a 2,000 year old story about a man who managed to remain positive in less than ideal circumstances.

The person I’m talking about is a man named Paul and he had a lot of “stuff” going on in his life. While he was awaiting trial in what would be one of two imprisonments at the end of his life, he wrote a letter to the church in the city of Philippi. In that letter he shared six specific things to think about. These six things would give them the same happiness, contentment and peace of mind that he had.

Here’s what he had to say in Philippians chapter 4 and verse 8.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever ispure, whatever is lovely, whatever iscommendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

That’s what Paul did and that’s what he challenged the brethren in Philippi to do. He was guided by this principle and policed the thoughts he allowed into his head.

The idea of a 4:8 Thinker comes from this Bible reference where the principle is found. It’s a memorable way to adapt this principle in your life.

Daily Doable: Be a 4:8 Thinker. Think on things that are TRUE, HONORABLE, JUST, PURE, LOVELY and COMMENDABLE.

Thanks for joining me. I’m not finished with this concept. Please join me over the next few posts as we dig deeper into the 4:8 Thinker. There’s a hint in the graphic for this article.
